She came to Yale for fellowship training in cardiology and electrophysiology, and joined the faculty of Yale School of Medicine in 1997.

Dr Lampert is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the section of Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale Medical School and specializes in clinical cardiac electrophysiology with board certifications in cardiology and electrophysiology. She is a clinician-investigator whose clinical focus is on care of patients with implanted devices (and implantation) and care of patients with other arrhythmias.

Published research includes effects of stress on arrhythmias, and clinical issues around management of patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Several projects have investigated issues surrounding management of patients with ICDs who are nearing the end of life.  Dr Lampert recently co-chaired a consensus statement on this topic by the Heart Rhythm Society. Decision-making around ICD implantation in older individuals is another current research focus.
